The ‘Hoe and Trowel Group’ needs some help
There are two problems facing the Ford Garden. The first is that we have failed so far to persuade the
council to cut back in any significant way the two big willow trees which continue to shade the garden,
entangle themselves in the telephone wires and, by the middle of the summer, obstruct the path and the
notices. Both resident societies, Fishpool Street and the Society of St Michael's and Kingsbury will continue
to press our case with the Trees and Woodlands officer, Andrew Branch and the parks manager Jim Bennie.
Our second difficulty is that we really would appreciate, this is a softer way of saying “We Need”, some
extra help on occasions in the year. Would you help please? You do not have to come to every session. You
do not need to stay for the full hour and a three quarters. You do not really need to know a lot about
gardening. If you are willing to help but can’t actually come to the times below please contact me and I
am sure we can make an arrangement( Madeleine 846761). The group do not want this garden to become the
unkempt, overgrown, weed filled eyesore that it once was.
Please try to join us for some of the following Saturday sessions in 2010 between 10.30am and 11.45am at the Ford Garden
February 6th, March 13th, April 10th, May 8th,and June 5th. The rest of the year's dates will be in the May Newsletter
