St Albans International Organ Festival took place from 4 - 18 July and an important part of this was an Art Exhibition in the Kingsbury Barn.
There were artists exhibiting in a number of different styles, including painting, sculpture and pottery. Many of the artists were from the St Albans area, and several were truly local residents of St Michael’s village and Kingsbury. These included Leo Cinicolo (Fishpool St), Myrette Parsons (Hill Street) and Dione Verulam (Gorhambury); others may also have been truly local or had local links.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this beholder’s eye was caught by Carolyn Attewill’s landscape paintings and her views of the interior of St Albans Abbey. The landscapes were quite moody and very atmospheric – especially her views of trees in winter landscapes. Bill Free
